Mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल Maṇḍala, 'circle') is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe.^[1]The basic form of most mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. Each gate is in the general shape of a T.^[2]^[3]Mandalas often exhibit radial balance.^[4]

The term is of Sanskrit origin. It appears in the Rig Veda as the name of the sections of the work, but is also used in other Indian religions, particularly Tibetan Buddhism.

In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.

In common use, mandala has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.(Source: Wikipedia)

Crochet

Doilies, doilies, doilies… Grand-grand mother used to crochet doilies in the past, when women used to stay at home, with no other jobs. Now, women are employed, they work hard and when they come home, they change their jobs into housekeepers, mothers, sisters and so on. Therefore, doilies seems to be useless in a house, unless you want to have a vintage look in your cottage.

But the Internet is full of crochet patterns for doilies. What to do with a doily? Well, use it for your times. Make a purse, a bag, a top, whatever you like to wear.

Here is an idea how to transform a doily into a bag. You have the pattern, you have a crochet, you have imagination. The rest is history.

Crochet Turcoise Top Unique

Crochet Geek as I am, I had an idea: to crochet a top with round patterns. So I begun first with some circles and put them on a piece of cloth in order to know how to continue. And I kept on going. And I obtained this marvelous piece of top which I like so much. I ended the piece of art with the technique of granny squares links. As edgings I used picots. The pattern is simply as I used the V stitch (one double crochet, one chain, one double cochet).

Crochet with imagination and passion. Stay alive and optimistic. This life is so beautiful and whatever you think and create can be shared with others. The beauty of this art (so to call it) is without limits.
